REMOTE MONITORING
Remote monitoring can be effected by three principal methods.
i) Digital communicator, which would normally be connected to an ex-directory,
outgoing calls only telephone line for low to medium risk installations.
ii) Red Care, which again uses telephone lines but can be connected
to any existing line and sends a pulsed line monitoring signal over
the top of the usual conversation signal, this would be for medium to
high risk installations.
iii) Direct line central station connections are effected by the use
of a dedicated direct line from the installation to the Central Station
and would be used for high risk installations only.
All communications are transmitted to the Advance Central Monitoring
Station, which will respond to signal activation 24 hours a day 365
days per year. Typical monitoring applications are as follows.
1 Fire alarm and detection
2 Panic alarm
3 Intruder alarm
4 Air conditioning failure
5 Mains voltage failure
6 Water detection
7 Heating failure
8 Temperature alarm
On receipt of an activated signal all the relevant information will
be displayed on a VDU screen i.e.:
i) Type of alarm
ii) Action
iii) Keyholders number
iv) Local police and fire brigade
